In this changeling time the last thing we want our clients to worry about is problems with their hair extensions. With this in mind, our Creative Director and the extension queen, Inanch Emir has come up with her top tips to help keep your pre-bonded extensions in check until you can hit the salon once more.

1: BRUSHING

Brush your hair on a daily basis (morning and night) from root to tip. Use small sections of your hair and gently brush from the bonds to the ends of your hair. We recommend you use a soft bristle brush or a detangling brush. These are both available to purchase here.

2: SLEEPING:

Before you go to bed, tie your hair in a low and loose ponytail OR plait your hair if you have time. Either method will prevent your hair from tangling whilst you’re sleeping. Silk has some amazing benefits for your hair, allowing it to breath and stops friction and hair breakage. Our Gold Class Silky Hair Days Cap is a great option or a silk or stain pillowcase.

3: WASHING:

Wash and condition your hair at least once a week using a sulphate free shampoo and conditioner. Our Gold Class wetline products (Shampoo, Conditioner and Protein Spray) have been formulated to prolong the life of your hair extensions.

4: DRYING:

Using a blotting motion, towel dry your hair thoroughly from root to tip after washing. Do not towel dry by scrubbing as this will cause your hair to tangle. Always blow dry your hair on a cool / lukewarm temperature. Do not attempt to speed up the process by putting the temperature on “hot” as this can melt the bonds.

5: STYLING:

Styling products should only be applied to the mid-lengths and ends of your hair and not on the bonds. Our Gold Class round bristle brush can be used for blow-drying. Straighteners, tongs and heated rollers can be used. However, they must be kept away from the bonds. Our Gold Class Thermal Protection Serum can also be used to shield the hair from the damaging effects of heat styling.

REMOVAL:

We normally recommend that you have your extensions removed after 3-4 months but if you are not experiencing any problems with them, stick to the aftercare tips above and keep them in for as long as possible and until your hair extensions salon re-opens.

However, if your extensions are starting to get dry, knotted and difficult to manage, we would advise that you have them removed before they cause any damage to your own hair.

In normal circumstances, we always advise that you return to your salon to have the extensions professionally removed. In light of the current situation with the nationwide lockdown, we have put together the Gold Class Hair Extensions Removal Kit. Please ensure that you view our “how to” clip and “step-by-step” guide which you can find on our Instagram or Facebook Page before attempting to remove your hair extensions.

POST REMOVAL:

In order to keep your own hair and scalp in optimum condition during the lockdown, we recommend that you use at-home treatments to help replenish, hydrate and nourish your hair before your next set of extensions. Our Argan Gold Shampoo & Conditioner is also part of our removal kit and will help detox your hair once the extensions have been removed. We also have our Gold Class Argan Gold Hair Treatment – a Vitamin E enriched leave-in Argan oil serum, which will leave your hair feeling healthy, smooth and shiny.

If you experience any problems, you can contact us through our social media channels or e-mail us at info@inanch.com. We hope to see you back at the salon soon. In the meantime, please stay home and stay safe.
